Frisco, TX - William Herring "Bill" Worsham Bill Worsham passed away on August 14, 2012, in Frisco, Texas. Services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012, at 3:00 pm, at Christ United Methodist Church. Rev. Tom Howe and Rev. Caroline Wilkinson will officiate. Internment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, prior to the service. Bill was born on July 3, 1930 in Paris, Texas to Dee and Nannie Herring Worsham. Upon graduating from Paris High School, he joined the United States Air Force. After serving his country during the Korean War, he returned to Texas and met his wife of 55 years, Billie Louise Stevens. They made Shreveport their home while Bill advanced his career as a meat inspector with the United States Department of Agriculture. After retirement he worked at Down Home Meats with his good friend, the late Harold Chamberlain. Bill had three great loves in his life: faith, family and fishing. He was an active member of Christ United Methodist for 46 years; he loved to travel with Mrs. Billie; and, he always had a great time fishing with his friends, Chuck Patterson, Arles Turney, and the late L.G. Phillips. He and Mrs. Billie have spent the last four years enjoying their new home in Frisco, and spending time with special friends at the Frisco Senior Center. He also had fun taking frequent fishing trips to nearby Lake Texoma with his cousin, Bill Herring. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Worsham. He is survived by his wife and four children: daughter, Cheryl Beatty Sandifer and husband, John; son, Mike Beatty; son, Mark Worsham; and daughter, D'Nan Worsham Dean and husband, John. He had six grandchildren: James "Sandy" Beatty and wife, Joanne; Melissa Sandifer Lawson and husband, Mike; Melanie Sandifer Mills and husband, Rusty; Brent Worsham; and Brooke Worsham. He had nine great-grandchildren: Michael Wilfong, Jennifer Wilfong, Wade Lawson, Matt Lawson, Lance Lawson, Brock Lawson, Cameron Beatty, Emma Claire Mills and Reid Mills. Pallbearers will be Sandy Beatty, Wade Lawson, Matt Lawson, Brent Worsham, Lance Lawson and Brock Lawson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund.
