Obituary

William Arthur Oran Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023.

The youngest son of William Arthur Oran and Rebecca Louella Hines Oran. His family nicknamed him "Junior". Number 9 of 11 children. Born in Loudon, Tennessee. He was the last surviving member of the family. It is said that he weighed in at 15 lbs when he was born. His sisters reported being embarrassed by his constant whistling due to his chubby cheeks. Something he was known for throughout his life. A beautiful whistle.

Bill met his wife Terry in the Airforce when they were stationed at   Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile Alabama. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Together they had four Children. Ronald; Carol; Timothy and Rebecca. The family quickly expanded to include Ron's family, Wife Johnnie Sue, Ron, Kim, and Jeff. Tim's family, Wife Vola; Ashley, Anna, Angela, and Aimee. Becky's Family, Husband Lance; Amanda, AJ, and Ben. Growing even further to include 22 great grandchildren and grandchildren's spouses. He was so proud of each one of them.

Bill retired from the Airforce after 22 years of service and having achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. The bulk of his career was in the Dental Clinic. He loved to bowl. Loved playing golf as often as possible. Passing on that love to his boys and several grandsons. Bill even had two holes in one in his lifetime. He was always singing or whistling. He loved music.

Bill was known for easy smile and soft chuckle. He never met a stranger.

He and Terry loved to go visit family in Tennessee. They loved spending time on the beach in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, as well as visiting kids and grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Terry and his family were absolutely everything to Bill. He loved them with a fierce heart and in return they all adored him. His legacy will live on in them forever. He will be missed tremendously!
