On Friday, July 24, 2020, William Lee Harper III, loving son, brother, and father of two children, passed away at the age of 43. William (Bill) was born November 5, 1976, in Quincy, Illinois.
He received his GED before enlisting into the US Army in 1997. During his time in the Army, he received the following honors: National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (Mobilization), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. Bill was honorably discharged from the Army in 2005. He helped raise his children, Ethan and Cameron, with help from Jackie and Jeri Lynne.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Sr. and Joseph, his grandmothers, Barbara and Eulagene, his aunt, Eva, his step-sister, Lisa and a nephew, Ashton. He is survived by his two children, Ethan and Cameron; his father, William Jr., his mother, Mary, and step-mothers, Beverly and Jennifer; his sisters and brother, Brandy and her husband Gary, Barbara, Crystal, Melissa and her husband, Randy, Janie, Jenna, and Jacob; aunts and uncles, Pamela, Jeff and his wife Sue, Joe and his wife Connie, Patricia, Lanelle and her husband Jeff, and Robert; as well as three nephews, four nieces, and fourteen cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy Shreveport, LA 71115, at 2pm. A family viewing will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Please respect our family's private moments before the service begins at 2:00pm.
Our family would like to send out a special thanks to Lt. Butler, Tennessee State Trooper; David Lowery and his crew at Lowery's Wrecker Service in Dyersburg, TN, and all the emergency personnel who went above and beyond the call of duty in our time of need.
