Obituary

William Travis Foy, Jr. (Bill) was born September 3, 1950, in Springhill, LA, to Anna Mae Ritchey and William Travis Foy, Sr. and welcomed by his two sisters, Lynn and Sidney. He graduated from Springhill High School in 1968 and from Louisiana State University Baton Rouge with a BS in Accounting in 1973. He applied his formal education in the fields of grocery warehousing, paper wholesaling, banking and finance, and finally long-term healthcare. He was a stay-at-home dad for his children (including the canine sibling Misty) during the time they needed him. Bill was an intelligent and complex man who could be the life of the party or very stoic and aloof. He loved God, his family, and the LSU Fighting Tigers. He could be very demanding yet was thoughtful and generous as well. Bill went to his heavenly home on December 22, 2025, after fighting an unexpected illness for nine months. His wife Martha of 47 years and his children Travis and Amanda lost him much too soon.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 in Couch Chapel at First Methodist Church in downtown Shreveport. It will be an informal service with time for family and friends to make comments or share an experience.

In lieu of flowers, he and his family would appreciate your donating to a charity of your choice, particularly any supporting children or a food bank. Suggestions are Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services or the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
