In Loving Memory of William "Bill" Gene Fann
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Gene Fann, age 83, who passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026. Born on January 15, 1943, in Gurdon, Arkansas. Bill was the son of the late Earl and Gladys Fann (nee Angle) of Gurdon, Arkansas.
Bill was a devoted husband, loving father, caring stepfather, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. He was known for his honesty, kindness, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. His gentle spirit and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew him.
A proud veteran, Bill served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, He dedicated 35 years of service to General Motors before retiring. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of his coworkers through his dedication, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
More than anything, Bill treasured time spent with his family. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed creating lasting memories with those he loved. Bill loved to play pool, fish, hunt, gardening and never missed a chance to root on his favorite teams-the St. Louis Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints. Bill enjoyed going to the American Legion Post 14-the camaraderie there was so great and they always had his special place to sit.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Adele B. Fann; his children, Sally J. (Bob) Kelley and Jackie A. Cayton and stepchildren Kara R. (Duke) Lowrie, James L. (Elizabeth) Herriage, Heath R. (Christina) Herriage, Joel "Sonny" Fann, and Callie;13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Donald Fann, Louis Fann, Robert Fann and Barbara Anderson.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the love he shared, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched. His memory will remain in our hearts forever. A Memorial service will be held at The American Legion Post 14 on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 2-4 P.M.
