William Matthew "Cooter" Ealy Jr., beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 67. He was born on January 11, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to William Sr. and Ella Mae Ealy.

William made his confessions to the Lord at an early age at St. Luke CME Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Ella Mae Ealy, his brother Anthony Ealy, Sr., and his favorite companion "Minnie Mae Ealy". William leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to his daughter Gabrielle Ealy and his sons Matthew Ealy, Sr., Gabriel Ealy, Antonio Ealy, and TyeHill Lolyd. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren: Queanna Ealy, Qyisheant Ealy, Ja'Kari Ealy, Mekhi Ealy, ShaMareee Ealy, Matthew Ealy Jr., Gabrielle Ealy; Josiah Ealy, Isiah Ealy, Kayla Jefferson, Kya Ealy, Jarvis Blinks 111, Camaurion Ealy, Alijah Ealy, Zaniyah Ealy; and A'Ziyah Ealy.

A man of many passions, William found solace in the serene tranquility of fishing, the playful companionship of his dog Blue, and the simple pleasure of sharing laughter over cups of coffee with his family and friends. He also had a deep love for watching his favorite show, Law and Order.

His warmth and kindness endeared him to all who knew him; and his presence will be deeply missed by his family, nieces, nephews, and friends.

William is survived by his sister, Jimmie Ealy Morris, and his brothers George "Bill" Ealy (Lorretta), Preston Ealy (Beverly), and Nathaniel Ealy (Dana), along with his sister-in-law. Karen Ealy Tisby and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Though he may no longer be with us in person, William's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
