William Alan Smith of Shreveport Louisiana passed away on June 23, 2018 from an ongoing illness. Alan was born on June 13, 1948 to William Albert and Betty Ann Smith of Homer, Louisiana where he spent most of his life. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his three children and their spouses: daughter Amy Anderson and husband Gary of Bossier City, Louisiana; son, Ashley Smith and wife Dana of Denham Springs, Louisiana; and son, Wayne Smith and wife Michelle of Walker, Louisiana. Also, his brother Warren Smith and wife Betty of Homer, Louisiana, grandchildren Krystal Hale, Ariel Smith, Avery Smith, Jade Anderson, and Emily Lauren Smith, and great-grandchildren Kase and Layla Hale.

A Celebration of Alan's life will take place at Ruple Baptist Church in Homer, Louisiana, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. The family suggests memorial donations in memory of Alan be made to the American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association, or charity of the donor's choice.
