IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilbert Wesley
Mawby Jr
September 16, 2021
Wilbert Wesley (Bill) Mawby Jr. passed away on September 16, 2021, at the age of 95.
He was born on 10/18/25 in Oil City, Louisiana to Wilbert Wesley Mawby Sr. and Ruth Fitzgerald Mawby.
When the second World War began, he was just a young 17, but felt the need to serve his country. He joined the Navy and was stationed in the South Pacific.
On March 13, 1947, he married the love of his life, Joyce Elaine Bounds and was a devoted husband for 74 years. The couple were long time members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Bill was an architect and contractor for many years during which he designed and built the first round house in Shreveport.
His favorite pastimes were cooking, reading, and spending time on his various computers. He especially enjoyed sharing his knowledge with friends and became the "go to" guy for troubleshooting their computer issues. He was never too busy to help someone get back up and running.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters Patricia Ann Wooldridge and Terry Lynne Runyan, son in law Richard Scott Runyan and grandson Zachary Scott Runyan.
A graveside memorial service for both Joyce and Bill will be held on Thursday September 23 rd at 9:00 m at Forest Park West.
