Wendy Marie Nielsen was a true original free spirit and the coolest mom ever. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister & friend, but her most favorite title of them all was Nana, and she was the best!! She was born July 26, 1967; in Houma, LA. but grew up in Shreveport, LA. She passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. She was 57 years old.

Wendy Marie was a force of nature, known for her crazy and fun personality and her infectious laugh, her knack for adventure, her ability to always make you smile and feel comfortable in any situation.She had a heart of gold and would literally do anything for anyone. She was a devoted mother, daughter, friend, and most of all, she was the best nana and a loving and devoted mother to Amy Nielsen, Scott Nielsen, Amber Nielsen, and Allie Nielsen.

Wendy lived life to the fullest, always seeking out new experiences and sharing them with those around her. Especially talking about and showing off pictures of her kids and grand babies. She was a mentor, a friend, a referee, a great listener, and an even better storyteller and a source of inspiration to countless people who will forever be changed by her passing.

Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Joel Brazzell, and her son, Joel Scott Nielsen. Wendy is survived by her mother Evelyn Brazzell, her kids Amy, Amber, & Allie, her 17 grandchildren Lily, Lila, Michael, Aiden, Trinity, ,Nohlin, Hunter, Callynn, Rylie, Angel, Willow, Pyper, Kenzlie, Keatyn, Kaysen, Matthew, and Cara, and 1 great granddaughter, Aubree Grace, and her little sister Melissa Demarigny & husband Randy Demarigny and nieces Mary, Mallory & Morgan and countless friends who will forever cherish the memories of her.

A celebration of her life will be held on May 31, 2025 at 2pm at Auld's Funeral Home at 7849 E Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115. Brother Chad Mills will officiate.
