Wayne Roland Watson, age 76, of Magnolia, AR, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mansfield, LA, on March 31, 1933. He was a baptized member of the Baptist church, a mason, raised champion coon dogs, was a great hunter and fisherman, and loved gardening and plowing his mules. He was also a committed advocate for the youth of his community, teaching them the traditional hunting methods he so loved. Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 24 years, Christine Nunley Watson; one daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Phil Reeves of Austin, TX; one sister, Dorothy Poss of Shreveport, LA; one brother, James "Bunkie" Watson of Magnolia, AR; one sister-in-law, Colleen Lynch of Odessa, TX; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and his cup overflowed with numerous friends nationwide. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of the Life Touch Hospice for all of their loving care and support. A memorial service will be held at County Line Baptist Church, Magnolia, AR, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Brother Jessie Chappel, Mr Watson's dear, dear friend, will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM in the Grand Cane Cemetery, Grand Cane, LA, under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA.
