Warren (Buck) Garlington of Sibley, Louisiana, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the age of 68.

He was born July 8, 1953, to Wilton and Doris Bennett Garlington in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wilton Garlington; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Moyra Hammett; grandparents, Ellie and Esther LaCaze Bennett; and grandparents, Jefferson and Annie LaPrarie Garlington.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Doris Garlington, of Conway, AR; his wife of 36 1/2 years, Heather Hammett Garlington;  son, Christopher (Lisa) Garlington; daughter, Kimberly Garlington; and stepson, Scott Mangum.  He also leaves behind his siblings, five sisters; Doris Ann Ward on Conway, AR; Romaine McDaniel of Conway, AR; Patricia Ann Nicholas of Flora, LA; Darlene (Steve) Brewton of Winnfield, LA; Melba Marlene Posey of Cloutierville, LA and five brothers, DWayne (Meredith) Garlington of Natchitoches, LA; Charles Garlington of Natchitoches, LA; James Ellie (Sandy) Garlington of Bennettsville, SC; David Dean (Michelle) Garlington of Natchitoches, LA; Bobby Ray (Stacy) Garlington of Natchitoches, LA.  In addition, he leaves behind three grandchildren, one great-grandson, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Warren joined the National Guard prior to graduating from Cloutierville High School in 1972 and served 23 years in the Guard.  He was an E-6 and served in Desert Storm.  He worked in several local plywood mills and retired after 33 years.  He enjoyed watching wrestling and football games and was an avid Saints fan.  He was loved by everyone and would help anyone that needed help.

The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of the VA Hospital in Shreveport, LA and any others that were involved with his care.

A visitation will be held at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana 71115, on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 9:00AM til 11:00AM.  Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at the Cotton Valley Cemetery at 1:00PM, with Bro. Kenneth DeHart officiating.
