Red was born on June 10, 1933 to Warren Barney Bernard Sr. and Jessie Lee Jones in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He went into the Air Force in 1950 and served during the Korean War.  He married Concetta Uli in 1953 and had two children, Warren "Trey" Barney Bernard III and Brenda Bernard DeYoung Prichard.  He remarried in 1971 to Doris Giddings and had another daughter, Alessandra Lea Bernard.

Red had owned several businesses throughout his career, including D-R Systems, and Bernard's Coffee Services.  In his free time, he loved spending time with his family whether it was cooking, traveling, or hosting parties.

Red is preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter Kassidi Jade Ebarb, daughter-in-law Kellie Bernard, and son-in-law William "Tony" DeYoung III.

Left to cherish his memory are his son Warren "Trey" Bernard III; daughter, Brenda and husband Benjamin Prichard; daughter, Alessandra "Ali" and Reggie Evans; grandchildren, Rachal Rex (Jonathan), Warren Bernard IV, Christin Mortimore (James), Catherine Bernard, William "Tony" DeYoung IV (Blair), Travis DeYoung, Jason Ebarb, Jr., Haden Bernard, Balen Evans, and Layton Evans; and his wonderful 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Red Bernard, 88, will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.
