Obituary

Wanda Jean Morris was born on March 11, 1947 in Springhill, Louisiana to the late Wade Timmons and Bobbie Jean Timmons. She went to see the Lord May 24, 2022. Wanda passed away after a brief illness.

Wanda met John Morris in Shreveport and they married March 26, 1973. She was fiercely independent and preferred taking care of others, and spent many years doing so for her mother, father, and husband. She took pride in cooking and gardening, which she was very good at. Many family gatherings were spent with her in the kitchen making sure everyone else was taken care of, and she could be found pulling weeds almost any time of day up until the very end. She adored her grandchildren and lovingly gave them nicknames and made plans for their future. She was very proud of her family and made sure to tell them so. She loved her dog Abby like she was her child and spoiled her endlessly. If you were ever around Wanda, she was always trying to give you something. Whether it be clothes, something she ordered online, a pair of shoes or "chooney donnies" as she called them, or anything else she would give the shirt off her back to those she loved.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, John Morris; parents, Wade and Bobbie Timmons; brother, Ronnie Timmons; nephew, Ronnie Timmons Jr.

Wanda is survived by her 3 children; Lynn and her husband Wendell Perritt of Magnolia, AR, CeCelia and her husband Doug Barnard of Longview, TX and John Morris, Jr. of Shreveport, LA. Grandchildren; Christopher Nichols and his wife Christi Nichols, Connor Nichols, Tyler Barnard, Miranda Gray and her husband Braxton Gray, Cameron Nichols and great grandchildren; Preston, Parker and Paxton Nichols. Also, her sister and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends.

To respect the wishes of Wanda, no memorial service or funeral service will be held, and her immediate family will celebrate her life together. Her family would like to thank Dr. Paul Rushing and his nurse Angela at Highland Clinic in Shreveport; Dr. Larry Frase, Dr. Bill Taylor, Monica White, APRN-BC and all the support staff at Texas Oncology Longview; and John, Katie, and Jamie in addition to the other staff at Southern Care Hospice for their kind and compassionate care throughout this process.
