A memorial service celebrating the life of Walter Carey Hallett, Sr. will be held Friday, July 28th at 3:00 pm at Kings Highway Christian Church.

Walter Carey Hallett was born November 18, 1960, in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered heaven on July 8th, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica, his father, Leon Forrest "Bud" Hallett, Jr. and nephews Earl Jameson Routt and Joseph Henry Rudd, Jr.

He is survived by two sons, Walter Carey Hallett, Jr. and Gordon Cebren Hallett, his mother, Mary Ann Hallett and his fiancé Delorice Marie Parker. He is also survived by sister Carol Kissinger (Bob), brother Leon F "Buddy" Hallett, III, sister Amy Hallett, and numerous loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Carey (Walt) enjoyed hunting and fishing and was very involved in the pool leagues locally and in East Texas. He was also frequently asked to referee at the National Pool Tournament held annually in Las Vegas, NV.  "Pops" was happiest as a mentor and teacher to anyone wanting to learn or just improve their game; and nothing gave him greater pleasure than to see a protégé sink a shot.
