Obituary

VIRGINIA NADINE WINKLEPLECK (LEWIS) ROSS peacefully crossed over, July 20,2025, from this realm into the heavenly gates of heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her loved ones, waiting to welcome her home to her deserving mansion.
Ms. Nadine was 98 years old, born October 4,1926.  She was born in Topeka, Kansas, to Charles W. and Rachel E. Winklepleck.

Siblings who have all preceded her in death are Lyle, Dorothy (Hiltgen), George and Charles Jr., Winklepleck. Nadine survived two husbands, Carl Lewis and Dean Ross.  Also welcoming her to their heavenly home is eldest granddaughter Kristen Lewis, daughter of Terry Lewis, father of surviving grands Lauren (Norton) and Cody Lewis.

Her surviving daughter is Sharon Sue Lewis (Martini) of Bossier City, La., Stepdaughter, Donna Ross, FL, grandson Christian Hamet and precious family, BO, and Joe and Kiersten Remsen FL.

Nadine had a host of loving nieces, nephews, grands and great grands on her blended family tree.

The family extends their most sincere appreciation, and a profound thank you, to the staff of Willis Knighton Hospice for their selfless service and unwavering dedication to the care and compassion of mother.  Christy Graham RN, Jackie Martin, Chaplain Kendall Howell, and volunteer Kathryn Martin. These extraordinary individuals go above and beyond, selflessly serving their patients and families with unwavering dedication. They have become family in the truest sense.  Sharon sends her most sincere gratitude to Mr. Brian Crawford, VP, longtime Physician Doctor Sally Ball MD. both with Willis Knighton Hospital, for their compassion, kindness and care.

The generosity of time, consideration, and care from Robert Matthews, Connie Matthews, and staff with Aulds Funeral Home, also, Allean McGowan Pratt, Director of Anatomical Services, LSU Health Shreveport, Willed Body Program, surpassed requirements, pulling out all the stops.  Thank you does not seem sufficient.  May the generosity of your time and talents be returned to you pressed down, running over into your lives and your families.  I will not forget all that you have done for me!

Mama has been freed from her frail body to enter her eternal home.

A Celebration of her Life will be held from 3:00 PM til 5:00 PM, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Cypress Baptist Church, The Heritage Room, 4701 Palmetto Road, Benton, Louisiana, 71006.
