Stonewall,LA-Virgil Wayne Smith, age 66, of Stonewall, Louisiana went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2016. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on March 19, 1950 to Hermon and Jaunita Smith.  Virgil was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, grilling, and spending time with grandbabies. Like his father, he worked for L.E. Myers Company for thirty-three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Darlene Colvin; brother David Smith; Sister-in-law Barbara Smith; Nephew Allen Wayne Smith.
He was survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years Linda Smith; Son, Wayne Smith II; Daughter Penny Crabbe and husband Robert; Precious Grandchildren, Amber Smith, CJ Carter (Stayce); Great-Grandchildren, Channler Carter and Clarey Carter; Sister, Myrtie Fischer (Dennis); Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Aulds Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport with the Bro. Mike Stowell officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Zion Hill cemetery in Linden, Texas. Pallbearers will be CJ Carter, Randy Smith, Ronny Smith, Larry Rash, Chad Woods, Billy Ainsworth, Eric Cox, and Russ Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lone Buck Hunting Club.
