With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Vance A. Leitch, Jr. (Big Man Vance).  Vance went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2025, in Blanchard, Louisiana.  He was born on November 5, 1989, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Vance was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He never met a stranger.  He loved Jesus, and accepted Him as his personal savior.  He loved to play his guitar, sing, fish, and go to church.  He loved his nephews and nieces, often speaking fondly of them.  He also loved his job and his co-workers.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Mary Noe; grandparents, Margaret Leitch, Henry & Marcia Saph, and Woodrow & Kay Fields.

Vance is survived by his parents, father, Vance Leitch, Sr., stepmother, Alicia Leitch, mother, Charleene Saph Brewer, and birth mother, Theresa Fields; grandparents, Willard Leitch (Effie); siblings, Matthew Parrish (Kaylee), Mindy Ashen (Jeff), Angela Botzong (Matt), Umar Quasir, Ashlyn Leitch, Sumayyah Quasir, and Solomon Ortiz; nieces and nephews, Abby, Carson, Hayden, Maddie, Sadie, Everette, Emma, Landon, Salem, and Scarlet; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The memorial service will be held on June 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Northwoods Baptist Church, 5924 North Market Street, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71107.  All are welcome to join us for the celebration of Vance's life.  The family would like to show special thanks to Uncle Chip, for the care he took of Vance, to Jason and Jenna Pettiet, for helping him to keep his eye on Jesus in his time of despair, and to Stephen, Jessica, and their children, for being wonderful friends.
