Shreveport, LA - Ione York Loper went to be with The Lord on August 2, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Tues, August 6 at Aulds Funeral Home 7849 E. Kings Highway. Ione was born July 31, 1922 in Hermitage Springs, TN to H. T. York Sr. and Brittie York. She was raised in a happy family of seven children. Ione graduated from Auburn High School in Kentucky before moving to Louisville during WWII. There she worked in both an ammunition plant and the Curtis Wright aircraft factory. After the war she married John Wesley Loper Jr. The couple moved first to St Francisville and then to Shreveport LA where John continued to work for Belknap Hardware Co. of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings and husband. She is survived by her daughter Linda Sessions and her husband Leonard of Dallas TX: son, Donald Loper and his wife Liz Elley and grandchildren Maggie Loper and Pierce Loper of Shreveport. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
