Travis Gordan
Pruett
November 19, 1969 – May 26, 2026
Aulds Funeral Home
Starts at 11:00 am (Central time)
Travis Gordan Pruett passed away on May 26, 2026, after an almost three-year battle with colon cancer.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Travis was born on November 19, 1969. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Abigail R. Pruett and Paige T. Pruett; his brothers and sisters, Allen Richardson, Bubba and Theresa Davis, John and Lisa Vailes, and Mandy Coppedge; as well as countless nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Pruett and Rebekah Pruett.
For the last 17 years, Travis worked in the Controls Department at Payne Mechanical. He loved all things sports. Whether fishing, playing baseball, cheering for his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, or spending the last several years as a member of a bowling team in Texarkana, Travis found joy in competition, camaraderie, and the simple pleasures of life.
Above all else, Travis loved his family. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Abbie and Paige. They were his world, and he never missed an opportunity to let them know how much he loved them.
In recent years, Travis renewed his relationship with the Lord. His family finds comfort and joy in knowing that he has met his Savior and is now made whole again.
Travis was not just brave in the face of challenges—he met them with a strength and grace that inspired everyone around him. He showed us that even in our darkest moments, hope can still be found and strength can still endure.
There are not enough hours in a lifetime to share all the laughter, memories, and stories that made Travis such an unforgettable brother and friend. From bar brawls in our younger days to muddy rides, rainy rescues, and countless adventures, it is truly by the grace of God that we all made it through. Those stories will continue to be told for generations to come.
The lessons Travis leaves behind are simple yet profound. Integrity matters more than applause. Family is not just important—it is everything. He showed us how to stand tall without stepping on others, how to be strong without sacrificing tenderness, and how to love without conditions.
It takes a village sometimes, and Travis's village included his Payne Mechanical family. These remarkable people selflessly helped make Travis's life better and remained by his side until the very end. Our family will forever hold a special place in our hearts for each of them.
Travis, we will honor you not only with our words but with the way we live our lives. We will protect our family the way you protected us. We will keep telling your stories because, as long as we speak your name, you remain with us.
The world is quieter without you. The pain of your absence is heavy, but the joy of having shared life with you is a blessing we will never forget.
Go easy, Travis.
And to quote the great T-Rav:
"Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer, Give 'Em Hell, Alabama!"
"ROLL TIDE, ROLL!"
