"A parent's love for a child"

When Tommy was a young child, he would run from fear and his mother would run to her son to comfort him. When Tommy was confused, his father would guide him. When he would fall, his parents would catch him to keep him from injury. I know on that day September 25th, 2020 when Tommy was wandering and confused and walking through those woods he was not alone. His mother and father walked with him to comfort and guide him and when he fell from this life, he fell into the loving arms of his parents. He was not fearful and he was not lost, he was home.

"Ever more gone from our sight"

We are standing upon a seashore. A ship, at our side spreads his white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength. We stand and watch him until, at length, he hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sky and sea come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at our side says, "There, he is gone."

Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. He is just as large in mast, hull and spar as he was when he left our side, and he is just as able to bear his load of living freight to his destined port.

Never diminished in size - not him

And, just at that moment when someone says, " There he is gone."

there are other eyes watching him coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,

"Here he comes." and that is dying ..

How can we say goodbye? How can we watch from this shore, as your ship sails beyond?

We have trusted in faith as the master of the vessel has left for safe harbor before, but this time we stare from the shore saddened at the coming of the day. Our hearts torn by the parting

We watch you sail until the mast is far gone.

We turn once more to home weary of the journey, knowing even more the thing We knew before

home will never be in this world evermore.

We will love you forever.

Judy, Autumn, and Cheyenne
