Obituary

Tommie June Martin, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 24, 1951, in Temple, Texas. A devoted wife to the late Max Martin for 40 years, Tommie built a life around love, laughter, and service to others.

Tommie is survived by her four children: Martye Golden and husband Joshua, Melissa Wulf and husband Wil, Wade Martin and wife Janet, and Matthew Martin and wife Danielle. Her six grandchildren - Charlie, Jacob, Gus, Addison, Truitt, and Mallory - were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved nephew Bobby Ray. She spent 45 years as a dedicated registered nurse, bringing comfort and care to countless lives. Tommie cherished her adventures with her lifelong best friend and college roommate, Beth Bankston, and also kept close with her treasured college crew from NLU, always eager to share stories from the past.

Known for more than her warmth and humor, Tommie never met a stranger. Her home was always open, her smile always ready, and her wit never far behind. She had a special fondness for her dogs, quiet afternoons at the beach, and spent many hours lost in a good book. Tommie will be remembered most for her welcoming spirit, deep empathy, and the joy she brought to every room she entered. Her legacy lives in the lives she touched and the family she cherished.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Westview Christian Church, 7188 Greenwood Road, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71119.
