Thompson

Timothy Glenn Thompson
1962-2021
Timothy Glenn Thompson, 58, of Keithville, Louisiana, lost his four-year battle with cancer on February 27, 2021. He has been reunited with his brother, Donnie, and sister, Jackie, in heaven.
Timmy was born June 9, 1962 to Jack Thompson and Judy Burns in Uvalde, Texas. Being born into an oil field family, Timmy spent his early years in Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma before the family relocated to Louisiana when he was a teen. Settling in North Shreveport, he attended Northwood High School and developed lifelong friends from school and the neighborhood. In his early twenties, Timmy's family moved to Greenwood, Louisiana. The family home on Kelly Lane became a haven for many. The doors were always open for visiting family and friends. Whether riding horses, playing cards, shooting pool or listening to music on the jukebox, everyone felt welcomed and loved. It was here where Timmy developed his love of pool. He went on to play the Eight & Nine ball pool circuit in Shreveport. The Teams that he was a part of won many tournaments.
Timmy built his professional career as a very skilled mechanic. Thompson men have always been intrigued with how and why things work. If something is broke, they can usually repair it themselves. Timmy became ill while employed at Integrated Power Services as an Electric Motor Mechanic. Our family would like to thank IPS for their kindness and support for Timmy during his illness. Our deepest gratitude goes to Dr. Tyler Lash and Brandon Robinson for their care and compassion to Timmy during his treatment. To Lifepath Hospice, you guys were there for Timmy in more ways than we ever expected. From the moment Timmy decided to not pursue additional treatments, your team stepped in to care for not only him but our family. We will forever be grateful to Brian, Leslie, Tawonna, Debbie, Ann, Kim, Julie, Chaplain Chris, Reverend Jackie and especially Ms. Eileen and Cassie.
Timmy is survived by his father, Jack Thompson, his wife Glemia; mother, Judy Burns Huff; brother, Mark Thompson, his wife Sharon; sister, Sandi Walton, her husband Mark; sister, Tonya Roberts; brother, Van Shipley; brother, Heath Thompson, his wife Joni; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends Tina Headrick, her son Brandon and Kay Jenkins.
A celebration of Timmy's life will be held later this spring. One of Timmy's favorite past times was driving the back roads of Keithville and East Texas with the windows down and good music on. His siblings plan to ride those same roads, sharing memories and who knows - maybe stop at some dive bar, play a game of pool and have a beer. Love you Brother
