Joseph Woolley age 60 of Bossier City, Louisiana was a devout Catholic who attended Christ the King Church. He was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana and spent the last years caring for his loving soul mate and longtime companion Shelia Oswald.

Joseph was industrious and hardworking. During high school, he volunteered at United Way with a program for the handicapped called Wheeler Dealers held at First Methodist Church on Texas Avenue. And also helped with wheelchair bound people in his neighborhood. Due to an early death of his father he also assisted getting his younger siblings to school and took them on endless outings. He was a very caring and giving individual with a special gift of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Catherine Woolley, his sister Beatrice Woolley Rosenblath, and his brother William Adrian Woolley II.

He is survived by brothers and sisters Kathleen Sanders of Flat Rock, NC, Mary Richardson and her husband Michael of Covington, LA, John Woolley of Shreveport, LA, Mark Woolley of Hughes Springs, TX, Sara Robinson and her husband Pete of Anchorage, AK, Loretta Woolley and her husband David of Ashville, N.C., Michael Woolley and his wife Virginia of Shreveport, LA, Jeanne Woolley of Garland, TX, Christopher Woolley of Anchorage, AK, and Margaret Shackelford of Boyce, LA and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He also is survived by his second family Jean Turnage, Charles Oswald, Larry Oswald, Betty Austin and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Following the grave site service, there will be a family gathering at the home of Todd and Jennifer Harper.
