It is with great sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Thomas Harold Toney of Gloster, Louisiana on October 22, 2020 at the age of 69.  Thomas passed peacefully, surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-nine years, LaDona Jones Toney; mother, Peggy Jeane Firestine; brothers, Ronald Toney and Kenneth Toney (Callie); sisters-in-law, Theresa Jones Senkel (Ron) and Jackie Jones Miller (Paul);  daughter Tonya Toney Lyman (Jon); son, Terence "Bubba" Toney (Paula); son-in-law, Mark Sharbono (Robyn); grandchildren, Savanna Sharbono Karch, Mallory Sharbono, Madison Lyman, David Cleary, Emmaleigh Toney, Tate Toney, great-grandson, Cash Karch; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Toney; step-father, Pete Firestine, and father and mother-in-law, Cedric Jones and Rachel Perkins  Jones.

Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a provider at heart, often choosing to express his love for his family and friends by making sure they were always taken care of. Whether it was his hard work to support his family, making a huge pot of gumbo to feed the hunting lease, or offering a friend a job, Thomas was always watching out for others. He spent his career in construction sales and management. He was known for taking his children and later grandchildren on job sites with him and then always to lunch before they headed home.  He had a strong work ethic that he passed on to those around him. Thomas enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and firearms collector. When he was younger he rode bulls and always loved to go to the rodeo with his family. He kept horses and enjoyed riding, or just spending time walking in the woods.  Thomas was an active member of Landmark Baptist Church in Stonewall.

A memorial service will be held at Landmark Baptist Church in Stonewall, Louisiana at 2pm Wednesday, October 28, 2020 led by Pastor Jerrell Head, assisted by Brother John Kautz.  His ashes will be interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, Louisiana at a later date.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at the Willis Knighton Pierremont Hospital for their care and compassion; as well as the Landmark Baptist Church family for their love and prayers.
