Thomas "Mike"
Paxton
December 13, 1955 – June 14, 2022
Thomas Michael "Mike" Paxton was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and grew up on a small farm there. His parents instilled him with a love of God, and the outdoors. He was a graduate of Southwood High School, class of '72. He was a millwright by trade, and worked for Beaird Industries, Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant, and UOP, respectively before retiring. He was considered ornery by many, but was a fiercely loyal friend. He also had an amazing sense of humor, and kept those around him laughing.
He was an avid hunter, and an outstanding fisherman. After his retirement, he especially enjoyed his time fishing, spending time with his family, and cheering on the Saints. He loved the early mornings on the water the most. He often said that there wasn't a problem that couldn't be solved by talking to Jesus while on the water. Mike passed away on June 14, 2022, after a brief illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jethern "TJ" Paxton, Mary Matheny Paxton, his sister Sharon J. Paxton, and friend Mary Triplet. Left to cherish his memory are is daughter, Jennifer Paxton, grandson Jaron, along with his dog Bella, granddog Boudreaux, and numerous other friends, family, and extended family.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 11am, at Westview Christian Church, 7188 Greenwood Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71119.
