Obituary

Thomas Larry "Tom" Jackson, 70, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Born on December 10, 1954, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, Tom lived a life marked by quiet strength, enduring friendships, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.

Tom dedicated his professional life to the United States Postal Service, where he served as a mail carrier until his retirement. His years of service reflected his reliability and commitment to his community.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Kimberly Duet and her husband Matthew; his son Zach Jackson; and his cherished grandson Luke. Tom also leaves behind his siblings Mary Jo Dear, John Jackson, Maxine Fleming, and Catherine Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Jackson and Alice J. Jackson; and siblings Richard Carrol, Cecil, Charlie, Margie Brown, and Ada Brown.

A man of many interests and talents, Tom found joy in reading—especially science fiction—and had a particular fondness for sci-fi movies and books. He enjoyed playing board games and was known for his creativity in woodworking. With an uncanny ability to craft something out of nothing—much like the fictional MacGyver—Tom's resourcefulness was admired by those who knew him.

Though he kept a small circle and valued solitude, Tom formed lifelong bonds that stood the test of time. Special thanks are extended to James "Gary" Gray and Jim Leggett—friends since the age of seven—whose steadfast companionship remained constant throughout Tom's life. The family also wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Pilgrim Manor for their compassionate care and for treating Tom like family during his final days.

May Thomas Larry "Tom" Jackson's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life quietly but meaningfully lived.
