Obituary

Mr. Thomas H. Anderson (Tom), age 68, died peacefully at The Carpenter's House (a division of St. Joseph Hospice) in Shreveport, on December 20, 2020. Tom was born on March 22, 1952 in Shreveport to Albert H. Anderson, Sr., and Nettie Brewster Anderson. He is preceded in death by his brother, Albert Anderson, Jr., and his parents.

He is survived by his only sister, Janey Anderson Rachal (Dickie) and his brother Jerry Anderson, all from Shreveport.

Uncle T. Toms greatest delights were his numerous nieces and nephews. They made him feel young and he go to act like a kid again with them. They are Warren, Wayne (Paula) Anderson, Jon Craig Anderson, and Steven Anderson, Jennifer Anderson Rivers (Jeremy), Brandy Anderson, Garrison (Ben), Soni Rachal Johnson, (Jody), and Lesli Rachal Doyal (Richard); Great Nieces and Nephews, Josie, Alex, Dalton, Trenton, Averie, Braedon, Joshua, Rachal, and Emily.

Tom was a 1970 graduate of Woodlawn High School. He was blessed by God with the ability to play piano and organ by ear. He and his sister Janey entertained at the Veteran's Hospital, Caddo Council, Disabled American Veteran's Convention, weddings, and at church while in their teens. Tom was a founding member of the Toledo Boys Gospel Group. They recorded three albums and toured praising God and teaching God's word with song. This Christmas will be spent with his Savior Jesus Christ and what a birthday it ill be. Tom will probably insist on decorating the cake. He owned a deli, ran several in store bakeries, and did some wedding catering. He was a man of many talents and shall be sorely missed by all who know him. He was always the life of any party and would offer to help you clean up before he left.

The family would like to thank the Carpenter House's staff. This place is an example of what a perfect hospice should be. Also, thanks are given to Drs Van and Gautreaux, nurses on third and fourth floor that cared for him so tenderly and were only too willing to give me daily reports. BJ, Leah, Ebony, and so many more, thank you. I was unable to come to the hospital, but you took excellent care of him. Thanks to Regina, social worker at Bossier Willis Knighton. Your advice was reassuring.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations his name may be made to a charity of your choice.

John 14: 1-6 says, "In my Father's house are many mansions. If this were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and I will come again to receive you unto myself, that where I am you shall be also!"
