IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teddy Henry
Brewster
April 9, 1947 – April 20, 2025
Teddy Henry Brewster, 78, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, at his residence in the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City. He was born on April 9, 1947 in Shreveport, LA to Willie and Dora (Sisson) Brewster.
Teddy was a Vietnam Veteran, proudly serving in the United States Navy as an electrician on the USS Chikaskia (AO-54). After his service, he continued his career as a skilled electrician and in 1980 was inducted into the IBEW Local 194. The brotherhood was very important to him and he was so proud to be a part of it. He was also very proud of his "Big Dog" motorcycle that he rode alongside his long-time love, Martha Poole. Besides enjoying the freedom of riding, he and Martha loved to go fishing as much as they could.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jane Cross; brother, T.J. Brewster, Sr.; sister Geraldine Hunter; and life companion, Martha Poole.
He is survived by one son, Brian Brewster (Cindy Castleman); two daughters, Sandy Harlan and husband Paul, and Bretta Tims and husband Dewayne; five grandchildren, Cody Barnes and wife Sydney, Nicholas Shelton and wife Sarah, Devin Davis and husband Cole, Haley Joncas (Dakota Owens), and Jordan Joncas (Seth Gander); two great grandchildren, Avery and Jack Davis; and one sister, Carol Brewster Crain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Teddy's children would like to express their sincere gratitude to the amazing staff at the NWLA War Veterans Home for the exceptional care, compassion, and genuine friendship they provided to our dad during his last years. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Bristol Hospice for the care and compassion they provided to our dad, as well as to us, during his last days.
Teddy will be laid to rest on Monday, April 28, 2025 in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, located at 7970 Mike Clark Rd, Keithville, LA, 71047. The graveside memorial service will begin at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, please take some time to check in with a friend or family member you haven't spoken to in a while.
