Sydney Carswell Gilliam, age 79, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on January 21,2019 at his home. He was born on December 4, 1939 in Millen, Georgia to Robert Williams and Inez Jones Gilliam. Mr. Gilliam proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, epic storyteller, and most of all a loving Father and Grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Frenchie Gilliam; granddaughter Alexis Popejoy.

He is survived by his three children, Kris Popejoy (Mike), Sydney C. Gilliam, Jr. (Sherri), and Amy Gilliam; grandchildren, Blaine Popejoy, Ryley Gilliam, Bailey Gilliam, Sydney Hayes, Angelo Bryant, Starr Bryant, and Emmanuel Bryant.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10am Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana.
