Obituary

Steven Jerome Beaird was born April 1, 1957 to Reva Jo Beaird and Mack Beaird Jr. in Shreveport, La. Preceding him in death is his brother Jonathan Beaird.

Steve took his final ride during the early morning of Friday June 15, 2018 when he was unexpectedly gunned down at the age of 61.

He leaves behind his mother Reva Jo Beaird, father Mack Beaird Jr., brother Lance Beaird, five children:  April Beaird Miles and husband Sean, Steven Joshua Beaird and wife Lisa, Sarah Beaird Rhodes and husband Duke, Dillon Jerome Beaird and wife Kimee, Brittany Jo Beaird and three grandkids and his dog Puppy Dog. He loved his family and was always proud of who his children grew up to be as adults. He was a proud father, grandfather and daddy to Puppy Dog.

Steve spent most of his life as an ironworker but could do anything or fix anything you put in front of him. He did anything from writing poems, doing leather work to welding 100ft in the air. He could drive anything that had a motor and wheels and he would drive it like he stole it. If it had pipes you could hear him a mile away. He also loved the outdoors and would play his harmonica beside the campfire at night.

Its believed that he started loving Harleys while still in the womb. He was the happiest when he had his Harley full throttle and the roads wide open. He was free and didn't have a care in the world when he was riding two wheels. Behind the leather and skull rings was a great man with a huge heart. He loved his family and was a God-fearing man. He would give you the shirt off of his back but also would not take any mess from anyone no matter how big or tall. He was like superman. Nothing could ever keep him down. He was always happy and loved to make people laugh. He would tell the best stories with so much enthusiasm you would feel like you were there.

He never met a stranger and was never a man to judge anyone for their mistakes. He knew that no one was perfect and believed everyone deserved a second chance. Or in his case 4 or 5 chances. He was a simple man who tried to see the good in everything no matter the situation. He was always willing to sit down and help you with anything you needed. He was a man of many words as well as wise cracks and jokes. You can tell he was a very loved man and touched a lot of hearts based on all the love and support people have shown his family during these hard times. He will be greatly missed by many. Always know he is smiling down on us each day. When something funny happens out of the blue know that it is him still making you laugh.

Until we meet again at the pearly gates of Heaven you can bet he has an extra bike waiting for each of us.
