Steve Dickerson, 69, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away after a three-year battle with cancer on June 29, 2019. He fought a very courageous battle to beat this illness but was at peace knowing he was going home to be with his Lord.
Steve was born on September 17, 1949 to James and Maxine Dickerson. He grew up in Vidalia, Louisiana and graduated from Vidalia High School. He went on to become a stockbroker with Prudential Bache, Merrill Lynch, and eventually retired as branch manager of Charles Schwab in Shreveport.
Steve married his high school sweetheart, Cookie in 1969. They were happily married for 49 years. He loved his family and friends dearly. He was a devoted husband and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. He loved to travel with his wife. He also loved nothing more than to cook and grill for his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his daughter Daye, her husband Chris, and their daughters Holland and Laura, sons Brian and Derrick Alexander of Gloster, Louisiana; his daughter Ramee, her spouse Kelly Dickerson, and their daughter Marcyann Dixon of Shreveport, Louisiana; his brother Craig Dickerson, his wife Marsue, and his children Stephen and Shelby Dickerson; his father James Dickerson and his wife Wanda of Coushatta, Louisiana.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother Maxine Dickerson of Coushatta, Louisiana.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana 71115 on Tuesday, July 2,2019 from 1 to 5pm. It was important to Steve to have his family and friends come together to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing.
