IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Siller
Johnson
June 19, 1926 – November 12, 2020
Proverbs 31:26-28 and 30
"She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. ….but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised".
Our mother, Siller Johnson, surrounded by her family, slipped away quietly to her Heavenly home on the morning of November 12 th , 2020 after a long battle with dementia. Preceding her in death were her parents I.E. and Lizzie Virginia Hay; brothers: Thomas, William, Felix, Curt, Isacc, Arthur, and James Hay; sisters: Dixie Tyler and Dovie Hay; her loving and devoted husband of sixty-six years- J.R. Johnson and her loving special daughter, Esther Ruth Johnson. Left behind to cherish her memories are her children Glynn(Val) Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky; Ann(Wayne) Parker of Alba, Texas; Carolyn (Don)Stewart of Bossier City, Louisiana; and Kelly(Randy) Wooten of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren: Kevin Parker of Fort Worth, Texas; Pam Hume of Shreveport, Louisiana; Gwen(Danny) Nall of Bossier City, Louisiana; Brandon, Kayla, Keenya, Lazarus, and Zamaria Stewart of Bossier City; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Tracey, Treyvonne Nall and McKayla(Zach) Nall Elkins; and, Keagan Hume and Cameron Stewart of Shreveport, Louisiana; sisters: Gertrude(Cedar) Torres of Tennessee, Mattie Jordan and Allie Wilson of Goldonna, Louisiana; Onie (Dorothy) Hay of Winnfield, Louisiana and Calvin (Linda) Hay of Goldonna, Louisiana; brother-in-laws : Shelton Johnson of Jonesboro, Louisiana and Roy(Louise) Johnson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and numerous nieces and nephew.
Siller was born in Bienville, Louisiana on June 19 th of 1926, and moved to Goldonna, Louisiana during her senior year of high school. There she graduated from high school, met her husband, J.R., raised her family, and lived for many years before moving to Bossier City, Louisiana to be closer to her family. Mother spent her days cooking, sewing, quilting, drawing, painting, praying and caring for her family. She was especially devoted to our special needs sister, Ruth, whom she cared for at home until her death at the age of fifty-eight. Her devoted loving care of Ruth instilled in all of us the value of love, patience and kindness of all human life regardless of their need or handicap. As a result, she became the loving grandmother of several adopted handicapped special needs children.
Mother accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a later age in life and every night before she went to sleep you could hear her voicing her prayers for all of her children, grandchildren and husband.
We would like to extend a special thank-you to Dignity Hospice Care company for their care of our mother. Their care, gentleness, and kindness to her were truly appreciated. Her care at home would not have been possible without the help her daughters Kelly and Carolyn and her husband, Don and daughters, Gwen and Pam who opened their home to care for her.
In lieu of flowers, we request that you send your donations to www.alz.org.
