SHIRLEY SUE (Graves) (Colvin) AUSTIN, 87 yrs-11 months, of Shreveport, LA., passed away at her home, surrounded by loved ones on December 6, 2024.  She was born in Bernice, LA. on February 4th, 1937, to Jennie Lou & Mark Howard Graves.

Shirley graduated from Bernice High School in 1955, where she excelled in basketball.  She began her career at Memorial Hospital in Zachary, LA where she was a Cardiology EKG technician for 17 years.  She later worked and retired from Cardiology at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, LA.  She had many friends there and was selected as "Employee of The Month" at one time.  Shirley enjoyed shopping, working in her flower beds, and fishing when time permitted.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Colvin, Mother/Father, Jennie Lou/Mark Howard Graves, daughter, Angela Colvin, sister, Maribeth Graves Roberson, and brother, Billy Hudson Graves.

She is survived by husband, Clyde Austin, daughter, Traci/husband, Richard Johnson, of Bossier City, LA., granddaughter, Victoria/husband, Matt Ballard, Great grandson, Logan Ballard of Keithville, LA., Nephew Ken/wife Jessica Roberson of Ruston, LA; Stepsons, David/wife, Gwen Austin of Bossier City LA., Rickey/wife, Patty Austin of Maryville, TN., and four funny kitties Orange, Scooter, BoBo and little Kurley. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends

A Cremation Graveside Memorial Service for Shirley will be at the Bernice Cemetery on January 4th at 10:30 AM.

Donations to the Alzheimer's Association in her name would be deeply appreciated.
