Shields Pierce Hefner was born August 30, 1937 in Minden, Louisiana to Cecil and Velta Hefner.  He went to be with the Lord, November 18, 2016.

Mr. Hefner served honorably in Louisiana National Guard, and after retirement continued to serve his community on the board of directors for the Greenwood Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Virgia Wise, and brother, Willard Hefner.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanie; daughter, Tina, and husband, Denny DeYoung, their children, Daniel, Samuel, & Darlene; son, Stephen Hefner, and his children Jeremy and Mei-Ling, and great granddaughter Samantha DeYoung.

He is also survived by his brothers, Cecil and Robert Hefner, and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Pall bearers will be Daniel DeYoung, Samuel DeYoung, Jeremy Hefner, Brent Sparks, Randy Inderman and David Lubas.
