Sharon Hicks Odom passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, dedication, and service to others.
Sharon was born on March 8, 1950, in Argen Heights, Illinois, to Walter and Gertrude Hicks. Throughout her life, she possessed a caring and compassionate spirit, qualities that were reflected both in the way she loved her family and in the career she chose.
On August 6, 1983, Sharon married the love of her life, Cecil Manuel Odom. Together, they shared 43 years of marriage, remaining devoted to one another through life's joys as well as its many hardships. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, commitment, and the promise to stand beside one another through every season of life.
Sharon devoted 40 years of her life to the nursing profession as a Registered Nurse. Caring for others was more than a career for Sharon; it was an expression of the compassion that defined her. Over the course of four decades, she touched countless lives through her dedication, kindness, and willingness to care for those in need.
Her faith was also an important part of her life. Sharon was a faithful attendant of Christ Lutheran Church in Shreveport, where she also served as church treasurer. She gave generously of her time and talents and treasured the fellowship she shared with her church family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Hicks; her beloved aunt, Eleanor; Father In Law Cecil Odom, Sr, and her daughter, Casey Odom.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 43 years, Cecil Odom; her brothers, Clayton Hicks and Bobby Hicks; her mother-in-law, Mae Odom; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends.
Sharon will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and family, her many years of compassionate service as a nurse, and her steadfast faith. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the lives she touched throughout her journey will remain a treasured part of her legacy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Aulds Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Perry Culver officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Provencal, LA.
