Sharon Elizabeth Navaille
Sharon Elizabeth Navaille, 78, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed from this life on February 3, 2022, following a lengthy yet courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 7, 1943, to parents Lexie and Edwin Navaille in Jackson, MS where she was raised. She also spent time during her youth with family in both Morton, MS and New Orleans, LA.
Sharon graduated from Pearl High School in Pearl, MS and spent most of her adult life raising her children. She later worked as a family counselor at Baptist Hospital Chemical Dependency Center in Jackson, MS. In 2003 she moved to Shreveport to be close to her daughter and grandchildren.
She enjoyed her family above all else and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Known as Gran by Dillon and Kristen, she was renamed by Carson to Gee for reasons that remain a joyful mystery. She was a dedicated friend, an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, quilting and other sewing projects, and trying new recipes.
Sharon is survived by her daughter Holly Ellis Berry, granddaughter Kristen Brooke Berry, grandsons Dillon Scott Berry and Carson Spence Berry, and great-granddaughter, Camila (Mila) Navaille Nguyen. She was preceded in death by her son Spencer Ray Ellis, mother Florence Lexie Letterman, and father Edwin P. Navaille.
A time of visitation will be held at Grace Community United Methodist Church in Shreveport, LA on Friday, February 11 at 1:00 followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00.
Her family would like to thank her friends and family for loving and supporting her through her illness, Dr. Lane Rosen and Dr. Robert Nicholson for their expert care and guidance, and Nurse Diana from Lifepath Hospice for her compassion and love.
