Sharla Kay Willis of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away October 31, 2016 after a short illness.

Sharla was born in Indianapolis to Earl and Thelma Hoppes on July 31, 1930. In 1952 she moved to Houston where she met C.L. Willis, Jr. They were married on July 18, 1953. In 1958 they moved to Shreveport where they raised a son and daughter. During Sharla's younger years she loved to listen to good music, often singing while her son Rick played guitar. She enjoyed playing games, doing crafts of all kinds and getting together with neighborhood friends. She was a huge lover of all animals and supported many animal rescue organizations . In more recent years she enjoyed sipping her evening martini while watching television. Her family was her greatest joy.

Sharla is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Thelma Hoppes, her sister Jo Mae Simmons and her husband, C.L. Willis, Jr.

Sharla is survived by her son, Rick (Kathy) Willis; daughter Laura Floyd; four granddaughters Tammy (Tomasz) Radzikowki, Jennifer (Kevin) Terry, Virginia (Bobby) Ward and Sara Floyd; 6 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 2 great great grandsons.

The family would like to thank Nikki Deacon for taking exceptional care of her for the last 6 months of her life. She was more than a caregiver to our mom/grandmother, she was her friend and we will be forever grateful to her.
