Saralou Walker Cunningham, age 82, passed away July 11, 2016 at a local nursing home. She was born on September 14, 1933 to Jordan Alfred Walker and Mabel Brown Walker in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Cunningham graduated from C.E. Byrd High School, class of 1951, and then later from Baylor University, class of 1955, with a triple major in English, Sociology, and Education. Saralou was retired from the State of Louisiana as a social worker and the Caddo Parish School Board where she fulfilled her dream job of teaching special education. Everyone loved Saralou, and she will always be remembered for her contagious smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving Husband, John Irven Cunningham.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzan Jean Colvin and husband Thomas; Son, John Walker Cunningham and wife Caroline; Grandchildren, John Thomas Colvin, Kelli Colvin Worden and husband Nathan, John Darrell Cunningham and wife Katy; Great-Grandchildren, Lance Cunningham, and Maddox Cunningham.

Graveside Services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Rockwall, Texas at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice near to your heart, in her memory.
