IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Upchurch
Primrose
January 22, 1938 – July 26, 2023
Sandra Upchurch Primrose was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She was impartial in her love for others, and she was compassionate and always willing to sacrifice for the needs of others. Sandra epitomized the love and grace of Jesus and was gifted at making others feel valued in the Kingdom of God. She lived her life committed to Jesus while teaching and training her children to live according to the Word of God. Sandra was a friend to everyone.
Sandra was born January 22,1938, in Vernon (Jackson Parish), Louisiana to Thelma and Robert Gordon Upchurch Sr. She suddenly left us on July 26, 2023, due to a car accident. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Primrose Sr., her sister Nadine Trowbridge, her brother Jack Upchurch, and her son-in-law Warren Pons. She is survived by her brother Robert Gordon Upchurch Jr., her sister Audrey Johns, her daughters Cindy Pons and Susan Carscadden (Tim), and her sons Don Primrose Jr. (Jackie) and Jeff Primrose (Jana), thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
As a young lady, Sandra would often help at her family-owned diner. This is where she met her husband Don whom she loved dearly. After spending years at home rearing her children, she worked at South Central Bell for more than 25 years until she retired.
Sandra had a special love for horses and even owned some of her own. One of her favorite pastimes was riding her horses and showing her horses at horse shows. Sandra also had a competitive nature that was not well-known. She enjoyed playing board games and did not like to lose. Sandra also found enjoyment in playing the piano at home. However, spending time with her family was her favorite thing to do. Even after her children were grown you could often find her with one of her kids.
Sandra will be missed so much by her family and friends; however, we have peace knowing she will spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A celebration of Sandra's life will be Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Christian Center of Shreveport, 207 Idema St., in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at noon followed by services at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Asia Mission outreach to aid Sandra's grandson and wife as they work as missionaries in Japan. Donations may be made via the Christian Center Shreveport APP or at https://christiancentershreveport.com/give. Please choose "Asia Missions" in the drop-down menu.
