Obituary

Sandra Lee (Strobeck) Briggs went to be with the Lord in her sleep on Friday, August 17, 2018 at her home in Stonewall, Louisiana. She was born on March 14, 1951 in Schenectagy, New York.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband Francis (Frank) Briggs, her parents Vernon and Lorraine Strobeck, her brother Clinton Strobeck, and her grandson Dakota Briggs.

Sandra's family moved to Louisiana in 1965. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1970. After graduating she studied computer technologies and in December of 1970 she joined the United States Army. While in the army she met and married her husband Frank on July 30, 1971. Frank and Sandra would have three children before his death in 1985 due to an automobile accident. Sandra never stopped loving him. Sandra was blessed with one more son and raised them on her own. Sandra was employed as an IT Specialist by Overton Brooks VA Medical Center for 27 years. She retired in 2009 to spend time with her children and beloved grandchildren TJ, Cindilue, and Bella. As a child Sandra was a Girl Scout and for the last three years shared that love of scouting as Troop Leader of Troop #321. The troop will greatly miss her.

Sandra was a woman of God that served her church, Western Hills Baptist Church with a true servant's heart. She was a beloved and dedicated Sunday School teacher, craft leader every year at Vacation Bible School, and went on multiple mission trips to Mexico. Her church family will miss her and cherish her memory.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Chris Briggs, David Briggs, Anthony (Jessica) Strobeck; one daughter Brenda (John) Taylor; Grandchildren TJ, Cindilue, and Bella; Sisters Valerie (Bennie) Parker, Darla (Andy) McDonald, and Dawn (Kevin) Henk. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearer is TJ Strobeck; Pallbearers are John Taylor, Bennie Parker, Kevin Henk, David Briggs, Michael McDonald, and Tyler McDonald.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Western Hills Baptist Church in Shreveport with Bro. Joey Ketchum officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, August 20, 2018 at Aulds Funeral Home Chapel.
