Sammie Long White, age 81, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on March 5, 2024. She was born on May 22, 1942 to Virgil and Sarah Long in Shreveport. She loved playing bingo, sampling wine and cheese, camping, and above all else she enjoyed simply spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her loving Husband of 65 years, James Leon White III; Parents Virgil and Sarah Long; Son James Leon White IV; Sister Ira K. Long.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Sarah White McCurry (Walter McCurry) of Shreveport, Louisiana and Sharon White Myhre (Graydon Myhre) of Norton Shores, Michigan; Sisters Sally Hobock, Margie Williamson, and Ginger Austin; Grandchildren Samantha McCurry, Christopher McCurry Agarkar, John Michael McCurry, Coleman Myhre, Madeline Myhre, Claire Myhre White, Alex White, Amber White, and Megan White; numerous Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to: Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Christus Highland Hospital, and Nurses and Staff at Grace Home, and to her friend at Spring Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A memorial service will be held 2pm Friday, March 15, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport.
