Sally Whitaker was born in Houston, Texas to Richard Hollis and Opal McCown on August 8, 1952. She passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022.

Sally's world was Roland, Brian, and Garry until grandchildren. They were replaced by the birth of her great grandson, Connor.

Sally is predeceased by devoted son, Brian Sample, her parents Richard Hollis & Opal McCown, siblings Roland McCown Sr., Floy McCown, Douglas McCown, Mary Lou Bumpurs and Gerald Casey.

Sally is survived by son, Roland McCown Jr. (Michele), Brian's wife, Allison Sample and son, Garry McCown. Grandchildren, Roland McCown III, Alexis McCown, Penny Sample, and Brianna Sample. Her one and only great grandson, Connor Sample. Brothers, Richard McCown and Wendy McCown, and sister, Beverly Goatee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sally's door was always open to everyone and always wanted it full of family and friends. She never met a stranger.

Sally's memorial service will be Saturday, December 3 at 11 A.M. at Grace Community United Methodist Church, 9400 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.
