Shreveport, LA - A gathering in memory of Russell E. Wingfield, age 55, will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 at 6:00 p. m. at Auld's Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway Shreveport, LA. Russell's closest friends and co-workers are also having a gathering Sunday November 24, 2013 at 12:00 at the IATSE Local 298 Union Hall, 715 McNeil St. Shreveport, LA. Friends and family are welcome at both gatherings. Russell passed away Tuesday November 19, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. Russell was born in San Diego, California and spent most of his life in Shreveport, graduating from Byrd High School. He attended NSU majoring in music performance. Russell was the Business Manager and President of Stage Employees Local 298, responsible for working major theatrical events in the area. In the past, he was a performing member of the Shreveport Symphony and surrounding area symphonies. Preceding Russell in death was sister, Laura Wingfield Young. Survivors include parents Ruth and Lee Wingfield, sisters Linda Mayo and husband Mike, Lois Brister and husband Robert, LeeAnn Sipes and husband Lynn. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his closet friends Charles and Nancy Collins, Debbie Graham, Claire Hess and Monica Smart as well as his numerous friends and union brothers and sisters.
