Obituary

Roy Farrell Washington, 86, of Bossier City, LA, passed away after a sudden illness on Friday, October 24,2025, surrounded by his family!

Roy retired in 2002, after 30 years of truck driving, from Overnite Transportation. He earned an Honorable Discharge from Army of the United States, and he was also inducted into the St Clair County Basketball Hall of Fame.

He was a very hard worker and a great provider for his family. His favorite hobby was mowing lawns! He would mow his and any neighbors that let him! He also loved carpentry work with his best bud, Andy Anderson, (aka Handy Andy). They always had a project going and kept the aisles hot at Home Depot and Lowe's. Other times he was just piddling around in his shop and yard or taking power naps in his recliner until it was time to watch NASCAR or football, especially Auburn-War Eagle!

Despite all these things he loved, his favorite role was being a GRANDAD and his grandkids were his life, truly his pride and joy. He would literally do anything in the world for us all especially those grandchildren. He even loved all the grand dogs that we brought into his life and requested pictures and updates on them too. He loved like no other, and everyone that met him loved him.

Roy's life was a wonderful blessing, his memory a treasure, and his gift of helping others was felt by all that knew him. He will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing he is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior!

He is preceded in death by both parents, Farris and Lena Washington, and a brother, Ray Washington.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving daughter, Viki Sepulvado (Trey), two stepsons, Roy Burroughs and Barry Burroughs (Felicia), three precious grandchildren, Dylan Sepulvado (Lexi), Jadyn Rigdon (Charlie), and Alana Burroughs (Trey), his two brothers, Mark Washington (Joann) and Larry Washington (Belinda). He is also missed dearly by Michelle and Eva Poe, who were a huge part of his life, and his ex-wife, Nancy Meshell (Joe), as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Pallbearers will be Trey Sepulvado, Dylan Sepulvado, Roy Burroughs, Charlie Rigdon, Trey Aucoin, and Joe Meshell.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM til 12 PM, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115.  A graveside service will follow at 1 PM at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 2850 West Swan Lake Road, Bossier City, Louisiana, 71111.
