IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy H
Murphy
January 12, 1938 – February 29, 2020
Roy H. Murphy was born in DeSoto, Kansas on January 12, 1938 to Rollie and Velma Murphy. He was raised with his sisters Edie and Marcella and his brother Hobie.
He was baptized in May 1974 in Lawrence, Kansas. He was a faithful servant in congregations in Roeland Park, Kansas, Fort Smith, Arkansas, Pittsburg, Kansas, and Shreveport, Louisiana.
He loved to share his hope for the future and carried JW cards, tracts and books, prepared to share with others he met incidentally.
He was a master mechanic, although he humbly considered himself a "jack of all trades, master of none." His motto was "If I couldn't make you laugh, I've had a bad day."
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 ½ years, Sally Murphy, his sister Edie Burke, his children, Roy H. Murphy, Jr., Johnny Bell, Penny Bell Frier, Todd Chapman, Teresa Chapman, Tami Chapman Wheeler, Gary Brown, Tuesday Chapman, and Joel Murphy, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. His family also included Jackee Baker, Carmen Wimberly, Sandra and Don Madison, ML and Fannie Caldwell, Henry and Linda Caldwell, and Don Haig.
