Services for Roy Ray Johnson, age 59, of Bossier City Louisiana, will be Saturday August 10, 2024, at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 Old Bellevue Rd, Benton LA, @ 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time.  Officiating will be Pastor Doyle Adams SR. Roy died Wednesday July 31, 2024.  He was born March 27, 1965, to Beatrice "Bebe" Johnson of Benton Louisiana.

Roy was a lifelong member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, and he and his wife, Karen attended Northpoint Community Church.  Roy retired from the Bossier Parish School Board after 28 years of service to the students and faculty of Bossier Schools.  Roy loved traveling and he could not wait to take his next adventure. To know Roy was to love him.  His bigger than life smile lit up every room he walked into.  He loved going fishing in the boathouse, the 49ers and Warriors, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Roy is preceded in death by his mother, his mother- n- law, Barbara Taylor, and his grandparents Charlie and Hattie Mae Johnson.

Roy is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Karen Johnson.  His sons, Royrique Johnson and Therese of Arlington Tx, Justin Bolton and wife Jordan.  His daughter-in-law Courtney Sanders.  His grandchildren, Carson Johnson, June Bolton, Emoni Johnson, Royce and Royalti Johnson and Unique Johnson.  His brother, Gary Johnson and wife Charlotte. Sisters Linda Ashley and husband Melvin, Christy Owens and husband Corneluis.  Uncle, Tommy Johnson and wife Betty.  Aunts: Gloria Hardiman, Marie Henderson and Linda Lanier.  Nephews: Kurvis and Shawn Johnson, Marshall Adkins. Nieces: Lakresha and Delisha Johnson, Semaria Scott and Millicent Adkins.  Sister-in-law Suzanne Adams.  Cousins: Dwayne Johnson and wife Laura, Dennis Grisby, Nate Lanier and wife Alicia, Nick Lanier and wife Ashley, Jeanette Johnson, Pamela Johnson, Virginia Hudson, Nadine and Dacota Washington.  His adopted family the Fulghums.  And other family members and friends.

Roy was an organ donor and his love for life will live on in others, because of this, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roy's name to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, 820 Jordan Street, suite 385, Shreveport LA, 71101.  Karen and the family would like to thank Dr. Srikar Veerareddy, Elizabeth Willis, RN/CFNP, Heart Failure Clinic, Dr. Paul "Corky" Davis and the staff at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialist, Dr. Dan Myers and Dr. Zachary Rosol of Baylor Heart and Vascular, and Dr Michael Angelo for their loving care of Roy.  And the staff of Christus Highland for their compassionate care after Roy's passing. And a special thank you to Nikki Jones for stopping, calling 911 and being there for Roy in his time of need.
