Roy Broomfield grew up in Redland, TX. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he moved to Shreveport, LA where he began a career in retail sales. While selling men's clothing and suits for Beall's in the 1970's, he was recognized for being the top yearly men's salesman in the company for multiple years. Around the same time, he was also a youth leader at Grace Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. After many years of working for Beall's, he obtained a buyers position, purchasing clothing for the Gibson's Discount store in Bossier City. He then moved onto retail tire sales at both Goodyear and Firestone. After selling tires at Pep Boys, he decided to retire and enjoy his favorite hobby of attending garage sales. He passed away after fighting a valiant battle with multiple infections that aggravated the Alzheimer's disease he was diagnosed with shortly after his retirement.
