Ronald Lewis Thompson Sr. (Ron) was born August 25th, 1947. He passed away March 13th, 2021 at the age of 73 in his home in Shreveport, La. Ron served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1974. After his discharge, he worked various jobs before becoming a long haul truck driver where he and his wife, Rose Mary, were fortunate enough to see this great country of ours and visit all 48 of the continental United States. Ron retired in 2010 to the comfort of his home where he enjoyed his time with his wife and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David Sr. and Ernestine Davis; and his grandparents, Percy and Ruby Wells.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Thompson; his son, Ronald Thompson Jr.; grandsons, Nicholas and Aron Thompson; sister, Sue Callender; brothers, Donald and David Davis Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held March 26, 2021 at 2pm at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ron's life.

God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you, And whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away; Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. We think about you always, We talk about you still. You have never been forgotten, And you never will. We hold you close within our hearts, And there you will remain.
