Shreveport, LA - Ronald Dexter Perkins, age 70, passed away December 2, 2013 at his home. He was born April 21, 1943 in Shreveport to Willie B. Perkins, Jr. and Violet (Herring) Perkins. Ronald graduated from Woodlawn High School and BPCC. He retired from Lucent Technologies. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers William David Perkins, Randol Singletary, and Michael Singletary, step-mother Nelma B. (Crain) Perkins, step-father Roy Singletary, paternal grandparents Willie B. Perkins, Sr. and Augusta Kraft Perkins, maternal grandparents Charles Dexter Herring and Nanie Bula Herring, and numerous nieces and nephews.Ronald is survived by his wife Tammy Perkins, daughters Natalie Free and Kimberly Donald, mother Violet Herring Singletary, brothers Rodney Singletary and Scott Perkins, sisters Lucinda Perkins, Belinda McLemore, and Dena Perkins Hale, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews, and a special uncle, "Uncie" Lemiel Herring. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday December 4, 2013 at the Aulds Funeral Home Chapel with visitation starting at 9 am prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Forest Park Cemetery East. Pallbearers will be: Larry Tucker, Tony Donald, Sidney McLemore, Mike Hale, Vernon Staley, and Scott Perkins.
