IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald "Ron"
Eugene Bowman
April 11, 1955 – September 25, 2021
Ronald "Ron" Eugene Bowman, age 66, was born April 11, 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Wayne and Josephine Bowman and passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. After Ron's Stage IV cancer diagnosis, he faced this battle head-on and unafraid because of his unwavering faith and devotion to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Ron proudly served his country with the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he ended up having a long career and retiring from Union Pacific Railroad. After his military service but before making his career with the railroad, Ron worked many years at the battery plant in Shreveport, Louisiana where he formed many lifelong friendships that still exist to this day. Although he made his career with the railroad, he could have been a top-notch carpenter! He was super talented and there wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix!!!
Ron had many hobbies that he enjoyed throughout his life, one of which was fishing. Ron loved to fish and did so most of his life and for a while did so professionally. YA'LL...Can you imagine being Ron's fishing partner and being in the same boat with him all day for some high stakes tournament??? Another favorite pastime of Ron's was playing pool. He played many many years and on many teams in the Shreveport area, playing in the APA and USAPL pool leagues. Ron also enjoyed "coaching" some of the newer players to the league. If he ever coached you- there is not a single time-out you will EVER forget!!! When he wasn't fishing or playing pool you could find Ron enjoying a ride on his Harley Davidson with friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Miste Bowman.
Ron is survived by his significant other and love of his life, Theresa Pender; brothers, Michael Wayne Bowman and wife Tammy and Larry Gale Bowman and wife Jill; daughter CeCe Liekar; two grandchildren, Margaret and John Liekar; and a host of very close friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to Ron's best friend, Terry Brown, for all his selfless dedication during Ron's last weeks. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Kirtan Koticha, Dr. Thomas Palmer, St. Joseph's Hospice, and especially nurse, Stephanie, for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
